CLASSES
In addition to our teams, we also offer a variety of recreational classes at Delta Cheer Athletics.
Tiny Tumble: Introductory class specifically for athletes ages 3-6. Class covers basic movement, body awareness, coordination, balance and flexibility.
Rec. Beginner: Similar to tiny tumble, but offered to athletes of all ages. Class covers the fundamentals of tumbling with proper technique. Some skills covered in this class are: front roll, back roll, cart wheel, round offs, back bends, as well as introducing back walk overs.
Rec. Intermediate: Class builds on fundamentals, of tumbling, polishes technique and maintaining consistency on skills, as well as introduces back hand springs, round off back hand springs, front walk overs and combination skills like back walk over back hand spring, back hand spring step outs, as well as front hand springs and front fly springs. ***Must have back walk over.
Advanced/Elite: Class open to athletes who have a strong foundation and understanding of tumbling with a focus on precise technique and precision. Class will strengthen standing and running back hand springs, work multiple back hand springs, back tucks, layouts and twisting skills like fulls and doubles. ***Must have back handspring.
Flyer Stretch: Class to improve overall flexibility and strength focusing on targeted stretches and flexibility drills to improve their range of motion in key areas like hamstrings, hips, shoulders, and back, allowing athletes to achieve extended positions in the air with confidence and skill. You DO NOT have to be a flyer to participate in this class. Class will implement scenarios simulating flying in stunts to improve air awareness and overall balance.
